View Authorities

If you are a prescriber, you can view all of your monitored medicine authorities, read related correspondence, and click through to the related patient profile.

View your authorities

  1. From the navigation menu, select Authorities.

  2. (If required) Filter by Date Range.

My Authorities displays all of your authorities. By default, the most recently updated authorities are at the top of the list.

  3. (If required) Apply additional filters to each column header. You can:

    • Click the calendar icon () at the top of a date column to filter on a single date.

    • Type free text in any column header with a magnifying glass (). For example, you could filter on Patient if you were looking for an authority for a particular patient. Refer to the example below.

    • Remove a filter—click on the cross ().

    Example - Filter by Patient

Type "smith" in the search box.

  4. Click to open an existing Authority and take the appropriate Action.

  5. If the authority cannot be found, select Apply for Authority, and select the relevant authority type:
    • Authority to prescribe

    • Authority to prescribe - Opioid use disorder

    • Authority to prescribe - Medicinal cannabis

Request a new authority

  1. From Authorities, select Apply for Authority, and select the relevant authority type.

A blank Authority form displays with the selected authority type in the header:

    • Authority to prescribe

    • Authority to prescribe - Opioid use disorder

    • Authority to prescribe - Medicinal cannabis

  2. Save the new authority request.

    • Save for later - If all the required inputs have been filled with valid data, but you do not want to submit your request, ensure no Action has been selected, then Save.

Your request is saved with Status set to Pending and displays on the My Authorities grid. You can search for this authority and submit it at a late date.

    • Save and submit - If Action is set to Submit, and all the required inputs have been filled with valid data, select Save to submit your request for approval. Your request displays on the My Authorities page with its Status set to Submitted.

Once a new application for an authority has been submitted, the prescriber can cancel the submitted version before it is actioned by a regulator (see Cancel an authority below).

    • Cancel without saving - If the form is blank and you do not want to proceed with your request, Cancel to return to My Authorities.

Cancel an authority

Practitioners can submit a cancellation when authorities are no longer required. For example, when the Status is Pending, Submitted, or Waiting for additional information.

Once the cancellation has been submitted, these authorities display in My Authorities with their Status set to Cancelled.

Authorities that have been Expired, Revoked or Refused can still be accessed by practitioners from My Authorities
